The weather is starting to cool off
The leaves are starting to fall from trees
It's getting to be that time of year again
When the men pack up and leave home....
IT'S ALWAYS HUNTING SEASON SOMEWHEREYep, It's that time of the year again
When they start to get that familiar itch
They pull out their targets, blow off the dust
And work hard at polishing up their aim....
IT'S ALWAYS HUNTING SEASON SOMEWHEREThey start digging out their camouflage clothing
And marking many pages in the Cabela's catalogs
Saying, "Honey I need..." at least once a day
Only he knows why he can't wear what he has
IT'S ALWAYS HUNTING SEASON SOMEWHEREAs he heads out the door once again
The kids shout out to daddy
"Good Luck Daddy" "Get a big buck"
He turns back and smiles at them
IT'S ALWAYS HUNTING SEASON SOMEWHEREHe plans to sit out in the cold all day
Maybe or maybe not seeing a deer
But that is all a part of deer hunting
And he will gladly do it with a grin
IT'S ALWAYS HUNTING SEASON SOMEWHERE
The wives just groan and roll their eyes
Knowing what the next months will bring
An absentee husband every weekend
But inwardly they are pleased with the meat
IT'S ALWAYS HUNTING SEASON SOMEWHERETo the men it is a very important part of their life
And the wives know that they can't be changed
So the men will continue this tradition every year
And the women will gather together and moan
IT'S ALWAYS HUNTING SEASON SOMEWHERE
