Things like baking soda, vinegar, lemon juice, coffee, newspaper and other items.
These two books are often thumbed through by me when I want to "homemake" something instead of buying or if I'm looking for a natural way to clean/fix something.
I can't use regular shampoo and conditioner, it makes my head itch really bad.
So I switched to natural shampoo and conditioner and those worked for quite awhile and I still use them but I still get the itchy scalp.
So, I pulled out these books and looked through the beauty section.
I now make my own shampoo and rinse when my head is feeling itchy or coated with shampoo.
Shampoo:
2 TB baking soda
+ enough water to make a paste.
Let it sit on your hair 3 minutes.
Rinse: gives your hair a nice shine
blonds: 2 TB lemon juice + 2 cups warm water
brunettes/redheads: 2 TB apple cider vinegar + 2 cups warm water
or replace vinegar with coffee

dry hair?? Make some hair conditioner:
apply 1/2 cup mayonnaise to dry, unwashed hair.
Cover with plastic bag and wait 15 minutes.
Rinse a few times before shampooing.

The books are full of other good hints. So I suggest that if you ever sees one of these books at a garage sale or store, grab it!
