cut strips up both sides

I did 1 inch apart

tie strips together

Using old/unwanted coffee beans

Fill a vase with the coffee beans.

You can add a candle or ribbon or leave plain.

Menu Planner

For those of you who want to know how I made this...

• I spray painted an 8x10 picture frame. you can buy one in the color you want but if you can pick one up cheap at a garage sale of second-hand store, that would be a better deal.
• I went online to print off a scrapbook page. I found this one at Activity Village. Or you can use computer paper that has a design on it already.
• Then I made up the Menu and the Days of the Week. You will have to cut the paper down so keep that in mind when laying out the planner. Or if you have a program on your computer that has a weekly planner that you can customize.
• And lastly, you will need a Dry Erase Marker.

Chalkboard

I wanted a chalkboard by the door to the garage for notes and reminders. I got the unfinished chalkboard at Michaels for a few $$, then I painted it and added some ribbon.

Hawaiian Yarn Lei

a fun project that the kids' can do themselves. Simply Modern Mom has an easy tutorial on how to make this lei.

Items needed: painted picture frame and chicken wire. Staple the two together.

paint some small clothespins

combine the two together and hang some pictures

or a lot of pictures

Flower Clips

1. Buy silk flowers (best to get them at garage sales/goodwill. don't need to spend a lot of $$)
2. take flower apart. You want to get rid of all the plastic parts.
3. take needle and thread and sew all the layers together.
   
4. attach a button. I do this while I'm sewing the layers together.
5. hot glue onto alligator clip/headband

Kylie doesn't really like wearing the plastic headbands so I put these flowers on alligator clips

This is a good project for using up those scraps of material
Here's my pile. I mainly keep it for Kylie when she wants to sew. But there are many things you can use the scraps for.

Here's the link. If you do this I suggest doing one coat of spray then waiting a bit to see how it bleaches out. I did too much on my shirt so the front isn't as sharp as the back. Also, after the bleach dries, wash your shirt. Otherwise the bleach will eat holes in the shirt.
